The man watches as activity in the house begins to settle. He watches the strange figures within the house as they all retreat to their respective lodgings. The warmhearted Vyn marches towards him in an intent but non-aggressive fashion as he says, "What is your name, friend, and why do you seem so bothered?"
It only takes the man a moment to gather his wits and answer Vyn's question as honest but clearly as possible.
"My name is Al-Haqq. If you remember me, it would be by the name Divinius Realius (my Latin counterpart), but your native tongue you can call me Divine Auror. Anyway, I'm concerned with the nature of truth and reality. My recent study and meditation revealed that a distortion of reality was going to happen somewhere in this vicinity earlier tonight. I hold you personally responsible and things can only be made right when the TRUTH is made known to all. It's my privilege and duty to ensure this is made so."
Divine bows his down low to show his humility. His head is so low that he can smell the dampness of the grass.
"I am at your service, my friend. I sense there is good reason for you keeping your story secret for now, but I shall accompany you until reality and truth have returned in their balance."
Divine's hand slinks from his robes as it stretches out toward Vyn. He awaits confirmation of Vyn's word before he decides to take matters in his own hands.

Unknown had been going over what he remembered carefully. Then he noticed a tear in Vyn's eye.
"So he does want to tell us... So either we don't need to know, or we can't know."

*Listening to the man's word both anger and confusion fired a spark in lips that exploded when the man finished.
"Who are you to judge me? I am lying for their safety. If I were to tell them about my true origins it would be a lot harder for them to live normal lives. Not only would it change them but they would not have the chance to find my Lord as every human being should. I don't want them to be forced into certain beliefs. What if they don't believe me? Ever think about that? Just because you have been around since the first day of Earth, doesn't give you the right to tell me what to do!"
As he spoke his throat burns and his skin crawls. Suddenly, energy emits from his hands and he convulses.
"Get away from me! Run! My body is going into overdrive, I lost control and I'm going to jump to another era!" Vyn screams at the man. "Get away!"
His vision is beginning to blur and being replaced with feelings of being alone.
Colors mixing together. Black. White. Falling. Visions. Memories.
Nothing.
Vyn opens his eyes to find that he is no longer in the same time or place that he was moments. Before looking around he concentrates on trying to go back. But his powers are gone. Before him is a burning horizon filled with war torn buildings and dead bodies.
He had heard about this era in history books long ago, but never visited it himself. It was an era when anyone who believed in any form of God were persecuted worldwide. Billions of lives were lost in nuclear wars. Humankind was near extinct, save for an army and few chosen who were allowed to mate under rigorous observation of scientists to try and keep those allowed to live "in check".
"Get on the ground with your hands on your head!"
He does what the man says and then he feels a sharp crack against his skull.
Pitch Blackness. He wakes to darkness so pure that he feels it pressing on him. He screams but no sound escapes his mouth. A cold chill settles in and he feels pain that can not be described.*

Divine watches as Vyn's body convulses and a strange and powerful aura emanates from around him. He hears those words, "Get away from me! Run!...Get away!" and knows there is little time to react. Thanks to quick reflexes Divine is able to draw out his wand and summon a small barrier to protect him from the force being driven from Vyn's body. A moment later there is nothing but a cloud of smoke, the scent of which is strangely evil.
Vyn is gone, but its unclear where (or when) exactly he is. It could take days of meditation to find out, so Divine resolves to take the next few moments to think carefully...
"Just because you have been around since the first day of Earth, doesn't give you the right to tell me what to do!" "Obviously" Divine thought, "he knows me by one of my names. Only a time jumper would know that I've been around for THAT long. Perhaps...surely I've underestimated this one's skill...and lack of control of it."
He remembers the last words uttered by Vyn, which seemed more in character of his true self than his previous outrage, "My body is going into overdrive, I lost control and I'm going to jump to another era!"
"Body...into overdrive..." Divine gets the sense that this puzzle would not be solved simply or even without aide. Although it is getting quite late, he realizes that there is still someone alert upstairs in the house. The strange figure seems to be pacing, even if only in his mind.
"I shall start by asking that fellow what he knows. I sense these three gentlemen have some bigger part..."
Divine tucks the wand back into his pocket and floats silently up to the house. He reaches his hand up to knock, but stops himself just before striking the door.
"These men will be more alert in the morning. I'll use this cool night as a time to think."
He props his staff up against the side of the house and seats himself with his back against the outside house wall, facing the direction where Vyn was just a few moments before. His stare that could penetrate the hardest hearts of men was glaring into the thick air, but still he could see nothing but an empty void. He looked up towards the stars, as if studying a map, and lay there silently until morning.

Unknown had been thinking when he heard someone screaming, it sounded like Vyn! Unknown couldn't quite make out the words, but he was sure it was Vyn, and it sounded like he was screaming at someone.
Unknown quickly got up and ran downstairs. He looked everywhere, but didn't see Vyn. Maybe he was outside? Running out the door, Unknown encountered this strange man, he was looking up at the stars, Unknown instantly didn't like him. The mans clothes shone, and, although he couldn't see them directly, Unknown could tell that they were bright too. And there was something about him, that made Unknown want to tell him his real name, and everything that had happened. That was what scared Unknown. Then he remembered that he was looking Vyn.
"Have you seen someone named Vyn around here?"

Tying his horse up outside, Smitty returned to the room, snatched up the key, and made his way to his room. He felt embarrassed for pointing and demanding this man's help, but he realized he would have to change his ways if he was to survive out of his kingdom. Refusing dinner, he laid down in his bed and was finally able to relax, though he laid there with one hand on his sword.
Later that night Smitty heard yelling, and decided to investigate. Quietly he watched one of the men he saw earlier that day running downstairs. He crept to the door and saw the man...and someone strange outside.
"Have you seen someone named Vyn around here?" -Vyn must have been the one who yelled.
Smitty waited for the other man's response before showing himself.

Divine was broken from his intense study of the night sky when he heard those words coming the strange figure he saw pacing just moments before: "Have you seen someone named Vyn around here?"
Divine looks up to see the source of this question. Had it not been for the natural light pulsing from Divine's majestic robes, it would surly be impossible to know there was even a man there in the midst of the dark. Divine could tell that this was a man of secrets because he was strongly resisting the urge to reveal himself to Divine...
"Good evening, sir. Indeed, I have seen a man by that name. I came here searching for him, and for now....it would seem he has disappeared. Perhaps you could help me find him."
Divine stands up to his full height. The shadowy figure is slightly shorter than himself. Looking down at the man, Divine gazes straight through the man in order to see his soul. Although the light from his eyes was accustomed to exposing darkness, there seemed to be a thickness that clouded his vision and prevented Divine from knowing just who this man was. Although it was difficult to see through this strange man, it was quite easy to see through the thin cloth of the man's pants. There was a slight chill outside (was this so before the man burst out of the house?), but the strange figure seemed comfortable in a pair of light clothes, which made it easy to see into the man's left pocket.
"I believe you just helped me solve this little conundrum that we seem to be in. Would you mind showing me that fine gem you have in your left pocket?"

"A gem? How do you know about that? Who are you?" Unknown didn't know how anyone knew about his gem, he hadn't even seen this person before!
"Why do you want to see it?" Calming down a little bit, Unknown felt like he had to save Vyn, or find him, even if he had to work with this strange, shining man

"Rest easy, stranger."
Although this man was indeed strange, Divine addressed him as such not because of his peculiarity but to provide him with a sense of comfort. It was clear that this man felt protected by remaining secretive. Perhaps he'll be more relaxed if I enlightened him of my own identity.
"My name is Al-Haqq. In this realm I can be called Divinius Realius or (less formally) Divine Auror. I'm concerned with a recent...disturbance of truth and reality. You see, it is my purpose to ensure that there is not an improper balance between the two, and recently...
Divine is not sure how much he should reveal to this stranger. After all, Vyn did choose to reverse their memories...but why would he reveal some truth about himself in the first place, Divine wondered. It was best not to suggest any theory about Vyn's past to this dark figure, unless he could somehow retrieve memories on his own.
"Recently, I was on my way to investigate a disturbance that happened in this vicinity. It would seem that your friend, Vyn, has disappeared, and I believe these two events are somehow linked. If I understand correctly, that precious stone you have might allow you to recount these most recent events even when your memory seems to fail you. "
Divine averts his eyes from the man. He can sense that the man feels uncomfortable when looked at directly, so Divine turns his gaze up to the stars once again.
"For your friend's sake, would you mind using that gem to remember anything that was discussed earlier. Specifically anything about time, the past present or future."
Divine hopes that he made his request humbly enough. He doesn't yet have the heart to tell this man that his friend might be lost in another era of time.

*Ignac made himself comfortable in the bed*
Torn between exhaustion and thought Iganac falls into a deep sleep. He dreams of his home and the day he left it.
**** It was a bright and warm summer afternoon. He was in his father's shop. He rushed through some morning duties, hoping to be allowed out to play. He sweapt the floor, and set out some fresh herbs that his mother grew in the garden. Ignac could overhear his father talking to a man at the counter.
"It's only worth a silver piece to me. I've seen these before and I'm sure I can find another," His father said.
"Fine, i'll take the silver." The man replied.
Ignac's father was a merchant of sorts. He he sold general goods and supplies. But the way he had become a wealthy man was by trading rare items. Living in the appartment above his shop not far from port, there was plenty of oppertunity to meet travelers. He had some regular customers which came back from far journeys with foreign books. Another man brought jewerly so often that Ignac was sure it must have been stolen. His father didn't care though, he was happy to trade with it and sell it for a good profit.
Feeling he had done quite enough chores for the morning, Ignac ran to the back of the room and up the stairs. His mother was sewing something at a table near the window. Ignac grabbed his slingshot and hugged his mother.
"I better not hear from anyone that you were causing trouble today," she said with a stern look.
Ignac and his friends had a habbit of flinging small stones at people and getting in the way of business by running arond the harbor docks and randomly jumping in to splash passerbyers.
"I won't, and ill be back for supper"
Ignac left and ran back down the stairs.
As he came around the corner, he saw an old man barely as tall as the counter. His father and the man were both looking down at something.
"Where did you find this?" His father asked with an alarmed voice.
Ignac wanted to see but knew better then to interrupt business. He had been scolded for that enough times. "When you are big enough to see over the counter then you can help with the family business" The man always joked. As much as it was a joke it was also a promise. Sometimes his father went away for weeks at a time, off trading and buying things for the shop. Once Ignac was allwed to go with his father. They were only away for 2 nights and they stayed at his friends house a few towns away, much more inland.
The man said something to his father that was too quiet for him to hear. His father shook his head from side to side. He took the object into his hands. Before wrapping it in a cloth, Ignac got a look at it.
***
*Ignac woke with a start to the sound of yelling*
It passed as soon as it started, if he wasn't just imaging it.
*Ignac fell back asleep into a dreamless sleep*

Unknown looked at Divine Auror, he had averted his eyes, which made Unknown feel a bit better. Divine Auror's eyes had something about them that was just too bright.
"How can I remember something that never happened to me? With your talk of the past, present, or future, I'm thinking that he can somehow control time. So he must have put me back into a time right before he told me and Ignac. And that's why I didn't see him come up to me."
Unknown stood there waiting for Divine Auror to reply, while looking around he noticed someone else spying on them.
"Who are you?" He said, pointing towards the parlor.

Divine listens intently as the strange man recounts perfectly the events that happened earlier that night:
"How can I remember something that never happened to me?" So it was as Divine thought. The truth had been skewed and his enchantment was ineffective.
"...I'm thinking that he can somehow control time. So he must have put me back into a time right before he told me and Ignac..." "Put...back into time", thought Divine. That's exactly what he needed to know. If Vyn had turned time backwards, it must have created disequilibrium and caused him to jump forward in time. Although it's not very specific, that shred of information would narrow down the searching process. Divine stands there for a moment, processing the information.
"Who are you?" He sees that the strange man is directing his question at another man on the balcony upstairs. Divine doesn't pay the man much attention as his thoughts drift to notions of the future and what is yet to come...

Unknown was confused, he never said that he remembered... Yet this man, Divine Auror, seemed to think that he had. But, maybe he had. Unknown didn't know what to think at that point.
Still wondering who was watching, he repeated again, louder this time, "Who are you? Show yourself, before I make you!"

"Who are you?"
Smitty was astonished by the man's ability to see him in the darkness, but his anger flared slightly at his question.
Who am I? he thought. That's a good question. I was once a proud and powerful man, but now I am no more than a commoner like yourself. Though, and outlaw so to speak. A dethroned king to a theif of a brother. I shall have my revenge later. But now I am entangled in a mess i dont have any business in.
again the man yelled "Who are you? Show yourself, before I make you!"
"It is not wise to threaten those who mean you no harm."
Smitty walked outside with the two men, his sword shining brightly in the moonlight. A closer look at the sword would show one the true beauty of things in life. As reflective as mirror, the sword is as beautiful as it is strong.
"I will tell you my name, when the time is right. At this moment the question should not leave your lips if you demand the identity of someone if you fancy meeting in secret quietly whispering amongst yourselves. Stay your anger, I bear you no harm, though if you confront me, by my sword and my ancestors you will be struck down. I ask this of you, friend, who are you and what dark business do you and this man intend on carrying out?"
Seeing that the other man is paying no attention to him, Smitty is unnerved by his ignorance. This man should be bowing to him, Smitty, Warrior King, Son Of Richard, Destroyer of Dragons. Commoners.

Unknown could tell that this man was acting a bit like he was someone important. He must have been some kind of noble, but no longer, for some reason. Or he would not be here.
"I know who you are. You're the person that Vyn is helping. We are talking about Vyn, actually. He may be in trouble. And, with you hiding in the shadows, do you expect me to think that you mean me no harm?"
Then a dark blob surrounded the once noble's sword hand, and dragged him into the shadows. Where he was pinned against a wall.
"It would be hard to kill someone who you cannot see, and even harder when you cannot move. I mean you no harm, either. But when you spy on me, you generally regret it. Of course, that means that you will live. But I have things to do, I will free you later."
