#1 Load Reliability
This version detects and repairs damaged records as they are loaded.
It prevents you from playing and saving when a record is damaged.
This will hopefully make the 'New Hero Arises' problem into a rarity.
#2 Equipment Decay
The version 18 decay method would randomly erase items+stacks in
storage and in your pack. And some items were set for rapid decay -
Mandrakes, Faeries & Notes. This was very unsatisfactory.
NOW everything decays one half of 1% every day. You can protect your
favorite items in the following ways:
The Queens Minor Blessing - for 100,000 marks, the queens blessing
protects your worn equipment from decay for one day.
The Queens Major Blessing - for 500,000 marks, the greater blessing
protects your equipment AND pack from decay for one day. It becomes
a minor blessing after the one day.
Oil - there are several types of Oil in the game. Oil will protect
one piece of equipment from decay for one day. You can put up to
five oils on any one piece of gear. See Dragon Guard Missions below.
#3 Mandrake Usage
Mandrake no longer restores quests. It can be used as super healing
(200 guts) or it can be used to go berzerk during combat.
#4 Market Lane
Salamander Township has grown. The storage has been moved from Silas
Tavern into a new bank facility. There is also a gambling den in town.
Half of the shops have been moved to the north end of town. You will
find them in Market Lane.
#5 Ocean Travel
The rutters are no longer used from the docks in the Castle. Now you
go to Market Lane in Salamander and pay 50k to hire a ship. This will
take you to the oceans where you can camp. You can also explore
Hi Brasil, Shangala and now Azteca.
#6 Sage Skill
You can now learn 'Sage' skill at the Forest Guild. It offers passive
protection against 'surprises' such as Ieatsu, Backstab and Hypnosis.
You will discover a number of monsters have this skill as well.
#7 Nobility and Visiting the Queen
You can no longer create starting heros with noble rank. You can still
buy a pass to enter the castlea. THEN you can perform a mission at the
Dragon Guard that will let you enter the Queens Court.
The 'Queens Folly' needs a Unicorn Horn, 1 Ruby, 2 Emeralds, and
4 Garnets. When you complete it, you win a 'Unicorn Pendant'.
The Unicorn Pendant will get you into the Queens Court exactly ONCE.
So be sure bring along 5,000 marks to petition for the rank of Knight.
#8 Dragon Guard Missions
You will find a number of missions at the Dragon Guard.
The 'Queens Folly' is the simplest mission.
For people interested in stacks of Oil, look at the 'Fish Oil Project'.
#9 Spirit of Fortune
A mystical woman will appear no more than once each day to offer
you a choice of magic items. If you select correctly, you win a
small prize.
#10 Guild Skill Weapons
Some weapons will appear with guild skills attached. This will give
your hero the guild skill when you equip it.
#11 Player + Clan Rankings
Clan Power is now Court Rank plus one-eighth of Level. For example,
a level 20 Baron would give power 6 = rank 4 + level 20 / 8 .
Clan Power to Clan Abilities is on a new table:
100 = 1 ability
300 = 2 abilities
1,000 = 3 abilities
3,000 = 4 abilities
10,000 = 5 abilities
30,000 = 6 abilities
100,000 = 7 abilities
Fame is still just Fame total.
Skill is now just the Combat Skill total.
Rank is now just Court Favor, no matter what your noble rank is.
Guild ranking is a combination of your total Guild Skills and
your cash, with greater weight given to the Skills.
### OTHER FIXES + CHANGES ###
Changed the Reaper. Now unplayed heros are not removed for two years.
If the hero is over level 20, then it is not removed for three years.
Changed the size of the EMail field. It was too small for some players.
Now email can be up to 79 letters.
If you need to update your email address, you just need the hero name
and password. You no longer need to old email.
You can now recover a list of heros for you email address. If you are
trying to find heros that are old whose passwords you have forgotten,
then you *may* need to create a temporary hero for verification.
There were some bugs with Ieatsu that have been fixed. If you had too
many guild skills due to excess Ieatsu, you may have your skills reduced.
Altered Trader, Merchant and Hotel skills. Now Trade and Merchant
each add 20 to your pack limit. Merchant and Hotel each add 20 to
your storage limit.
Improved game logging. Now we can track player trades when necessary.
Using enchant scrolls no longer results in explosions for over-enchanting.
You will get a message when you have reached the limits of enchantment.
Changed bonus from Flame, Bless, Lucky, & Glows. Flame adds 10% to attack,
Bless adds 5% to defend. Glows adds 5% to skill. Lucky adds 10% to skill
for right hand weapons.
Many new pieces of equipment have level restrictions. This restriction
is based on Level + Warrior skills.
Weapons that have an equals sign '=' have magical attributes.
Added a switch in the pack to change how worn gear is displayed,
name first of attributes first.
