Why the fearies in dc are so strange?

I think because the lore surrounding fairies isn't the clearest it allows for a wider interpretation of the creature. Many people have different views or ideas of what a faerie is and where they came from, it adds a mystique to the fairies within the game. Most of the time they are harmless, playful creatures, but they can, at times be quite malicious. This is one of my favorite creatures in the DC world simply because they are quirky. Sometimes they are great, saving you from certain death, but on occasion they hypnotize you :/ and make you feel silly. They are truly a mysterious creature whose motives, no one knows!

I've kinda wondered that same thing. Stalat might have a good idea there, but I think that most stories keep the idea that faeiries have magical powers that help people. I think that is a place where many agree. So why not have faeries save your life?
My question is why would they save your life if you are capturing them and enslaving them? That has always befuddled me. I have no answer for that question, lol!

bottled faeries are strange in DC because they are native to hyrule. After the fall of lord Gannon the faeries were able to flourish because they were no longer hunted by Link making thier numbers grow. After a time faeries eventually came to the town of salamander where the faeries were noted for there incredible healing powers and so now it is common to see young warriors using the bottled faeries to protect thier packs around in the land of Salamander.

Oh not to mention I have in fact rolled a bad roll against a faerie and ended up being thrown off a cliff. They CAN be vicious.

Well, they're fast or hard to catch, they can mezz you, so kind of a challenge for new chars... but for older chars, I'd say they're useful and kinda rare, maybe they'd be good for trading or something.... returning vets sometimes need frys, since they aren't used to playing and forget which critters are dangerous and whatnot.

I believe the frys in DC are "so strange" because we keep catching them and putting them in bottles! hehe Think about it, they didnt have a threat before we created a hero and started hunting them down. Just to use them in our aid in battle... Some frys give up a fight and will win the battle..., in return they free one of there own back into the wild! hmmm, maybe they are becoming even more clever? I think they are a kind creature normally. They never chase me when i run... BUT they will defend themselves if possible. There are many unknown traits about the frys, ill try to catch more and continue to study there "strange" ways

Might I ask a question:
What happens when bottled faeries experience the rust factor of the game? Do they just disappear into non-existence or are they freed again to roam the world?

I knew that many things were weird with dc frys... and I'm glad to read why you guys think they are so odd! I cant wait to hear more from sirruss's frys study! And raistler, your last comment is a relevant question... Perhaps the frys trying to blind us are just rusted fearies not working properly!! Thanks you all for your various answers! Anyone can still add more to this topic !!! I'm always curious about such little facts!

Faeries are like genies of the bottle. They reward you with life because they appreciate the value it has and have extremely short memories forgetting that you are the one responsible for their captivity.
They are also mortal enemies of the Dragon and recognise the fighting spirit shown by true warriors, and they desire you to do battle with the dragon. .

I believe the faeries are strange like Pan's labyrinth style and mean lil buggers cuz I try and catch them and they, today anways, keep on attacking me, lol. What did I ever do to them, I release more than I capture anyway. It is strange they would help you whenever you capture them, maybe it is like a leprechaun having to give you its pot of gold.

Must be some sort of Stockholm Syndrome. They show up, and don't like you much, but then when you keep them in bottles for long enough, they come around and save your life. It's also weird to see which kind of creatures keep faeries in bottles and which ones don't. Gryphons, medusas and mermaids... doesn't make much sense

Perhaps everyone here is over thinking this? They are programming, 0 and 1 and simply do exactly what they are programmed to do
