I'm currently trying to hunt down some DAs but am having limited success.
Snots appear about 1 in every 10 quests say. Most of the time I successfully fll and get a request, butnot always, so I'd say with 160 quests, I'd meet about 85 snots. Very few flee successfully.
I was reading about folk who carry no major weaponry or something with Bandit to stop everything fleeing so I tried with a Nunchuka with Bandit. But I didnt seem to get many more DAs/
Then I went back to just carrying my SAC and straight away I got 2 DAs. Conincidence I hear you say. Well perhaps so I tried with an ALT, and the same thing happened. 2 DA's one after the other after equipping my SAC
So it got me wondering was this a pure fluke, or is there any possible affect your weapon can have on the frequency of DA drops. I'm gonna try altnerating between weapons tomorrow to see if re-equipping with a DA works or not.
I got planty of mail and elf bows but the DA's are still very hard to get. 4 a day is my best so far I think. Maybe 5.
Cheers folks

I believe that your weapon bears no effect on what is dropped. Folks use Bandit to reduce the chance that a monster will flee successfully, not to get better drops.

DA's are one of the rarer dropped regular items in the game, Dees, so don't feel about about nabbing 4 or 5 a day. Many of us would call that great for one character!

Stalat, I did know what bandit was far. I thought that if I used a banditised weapon, then snots would less likely run away before i clobbered them, not encourage them to drop DAs.
It jsut seemed odd that the SAC was most successful. Or appeared to be. Like I say - could easily be a fluke!

You're not alone with that funny theory, though. Sometimes random luck turns out so well (or so poorly) that you swear there's a higher DC power.
