Oh, no one likes getting mezzed...very aggravating, even to veteran players. Can you provide a little more detail? Where are you questing? Who is mezzing you? Where is your character level and skill level? These'll help. Good luck!

im level 26, im questing in azteca, and i have 1866 skill. and the jaguars are the culprit! but if i try to quest in lower areas they try to do it too. i have sage skills so i dont lose everything, but after like 15 quests my 7 sage skills are all gone so i just ending up going to the court so i dont lose stuff.

there are a few ways around this. Get 15+ sage, or get your charm up high enough and feed them, and up your trader skills, these will indirectly affect how often you get mezzed, the increased skill from the charm will help you stop from getting mezzed as often

becareful! Kitties are crafty critters they will hypnotize you and make you buy lots of cat nip. You gotta be careful, their mez is strong, and using guild skills on them leave you open for attack by their mez, which often beats even my berserk sometimes, a feat not matched by many foes. try to stay away from using guild skills on them.
you can try your luck against them, but they are fierce! i'd suggest trying to spend more time in shangala, you'll have better chances against those enemies to build your strength up before you defeat some kittens. at level 40 i still have trouble against jags after my sage skills run out, they will try to mez you A LOT and steal your pennies

I think the problem is your skill is way to high for the level of your character. Quest in unenchanted gear for a bit, see if that helps.
Going on your level in Azteca (Area power 5): (26+5) squared = 961.
Stick below that number and you should avoid the enemies attention a lot better. (You may need to unequip your sac)
(Don't ask about my maths, it's taken years of being bored to get it close to right ;p)
I also believe having sage skills increases the frequency of enemies using their skills, so I removed them from all my chars. Keeping to those 2 methods means I have quested 15 chars so far today, and have been mezzed (and killed, rather than slapped around) once so far.

wait, so to quest in azteca you need less than 961 skill? because I have over that amount and I am still only in the dungeons and docks

I haven't been able to find anywhere which explicitly quantified the area power. The info you provided helps, a lot, again - and thank you again.

There's a lot to recommend about sage skills, Catan, so don't hop on the Woo Wagon too fast. However, he's right in that the higher your skill is, the more often monsters will use their skills against you (like mezzing, berzerk, etc.). Quest in lower-skilled gear and you'll notice a difference. Also, if you do encounter jaguars, try running instead of fighting them. There's still a chance to get mezzed, but less than if you try to attack them. That's a good habit for any monster that tries to mezz you, really. Having trader skills enables you to run away more successfully. As others here have said, I'd also recommend building up your skills in lower areas, like Hie Brasil and Shangala. Brasil is a great place to build skills without too much danger.

I like your thoughts Gawayn, you're like my alter ego, although still playing safe! (Which means we're both mad? XD) Just incase it helps, by running from nearly everything, bribing and then mezzing the giants, and also mezzing (until no skills left) and then helping trolls (with 30 mage skills admittedly) in the mountains I gained 15 wits on an alt yesterday even tho he died and lost 38 quests. Also you'll get csb materials, which in high amounts will always get you something nice, as will any random silvers/crystals.. So if you're between 100 and 250 wits go there for a bit to help out (As with everything, unless you sort the basics you can't succeed at a higher level! There's no point trying to mezz 500 wit warriors when you have 100 wits, with 250 you stand a chance)
