When you meet any Dc foes, U can choose various options.
few situations can occurs:
- You want to run away, the creature dont (result 1- u run away and avoid the fight, or , 2- the monster is quicker than you and a fight occur)
- You want to run away , the monster too (result 1- you succeed and flee, 2- the monster suceed and flee . You can avoid the fight in both case)
- You want to fight, the monster want to flee (result 1- you are not quick enough, the monster flee, , OR 2- u catch him and provoke the fight)
- You use the third option (bribe, help, answer, seduce, etc). Result 1 , you succeed, and get away with the fight, maybe some loot and experience + fame, OR u fail and then the monster *attitudes* determines what happen (if the monster agressive or hostile, a fight occur, if not , u have an xtra chance to choose another options, runing or fighting)
Those can always fail AND OR you decide to adopt a more agressive option:
HOW GUILD SKILLS AFFECT COMBAT?
Heres a list of the various kind of attacks:
1- Normal attack
2- Backstab
3- Berserk
4- Ieatsu
5- Mesmerize
(6- Sage, a kind of passive attack)
1- Normal attack:
First thing is to know who strikes first . I havent completed to gather all infos on that part yet (*). Your skill number definatly comes into play here, I'll have the complete formula later though.
dmg= ( ( (guts * (2+X) ) / 10 ) + attackers attack ) - enemy defense!
2- Backstab:
here is how it affect the Normal attack formula:
attackers speed X2
attckers guts X2
defenders hit reduce to 1
Your speed being doubled, you have more chances to stike first.
With twice much guts, it helps you deal more damage.
When the opponent retaliates, he can only make a WEAK blow.
(this can be used by some monsters too, , with the same results, , his speed (skills) and guts increase, u cant retaliate with more than a weak blow on that round).
3- Berserk
how it affect the Normal attack formula?
attackers speed X2
attackers guts X2
attackers hit = always 4
Berserk can only be done on the second round of a fight. It increase the speed and guts of the one using it (the player or the monster), and it will always be a POWER hit.
4- Iaetsus
how it affect the Normal attack formula?
attackers speed X2
attackers guts X2
attackers hit = always 4
Ieatsus are the same as berserk with the difference that u can use it on the first round of a fight.
5- Mezmerize
2 options:
a- both parties try to use hypnotize on the other.
Or
b- One of the 2 (player OR monster) try to mez the other one.
Mesmerising dosent work with the Normal attack formula, but with your wits.
in option 1, there is a wits contests, stare down, between the 2 parties, , until one *Blink first* and get mesmerised by the other one.
In option 2 , the attacker using hypnotize, test his wits against hypnosis resistance of the monster....

6- Sage
dosent affect the formula directly, but prevent its modification. If u try to backstab, ieatsus , mesmerize or berserk an ennemy, If that enemy is not using any special guild skill on that combat round, and he got at least one sage skill, , it will prevent u from using ur skill.
Same thing other way around, , if ur opponent try to mez you or use his backstab, , if u are not using any other guild skill, a sage skill will automaticly be used to prevent the monster to modify the Normal damage equation.
OTHER STUFF AFFECTING THE NORMAL COMBAT FORMULA:
BLIND:
If u (or the monster) is blinded , here is how it affect the NORMAL formula:
speed = /2
Hit = /2
So the speed of the blinded person (player or monster) would be divided by 2, , as his capacity to Hit (a power hit would turn to be only a good hit, , a potent or good hit, would drop to a weak blow, and a weak blow would turn out to be only a fly swat)
DISEASE
Affect ur skill, thus affecting ur speed. U can be diseased more than once , reducing ur skill each time.
few situations can occurs:
- You want to run away, the creature dont (result 1- u run away and avoid the fight, or , 2- the monster is quicker than you and a fight occur)
- You want to run away , the monster too (result 1- you succeed and flee, 2- the monster suceed and flee . You can avoid the fight in both case)
