This might be old news, but I need some closure on this situation. I'm slaying dragons up in the mountains for exp. I do this at the beginning of every day for that extra boost before I go out and quest elsewhere. Here's the rundown- I carry one single dragon scale and three bottled faeries (for safety's sake) when I go to the mountains. Usually, what I do is slay dragons until my dragon scale supply reached over a hundred, and a usually have a faerie or two left over. Today, I didn't even reach forty dragon scales, and all of my faeries were gone. I was more pissed than if I had been playing Zelda and the same exact thing had happened to me! Basically, the question (the one that I'm fearing might be old news..) is this- Do monsters, in general, gain strength as you do? if so, are there any calculations for figuring out just how much stronger they get? I'm going to try and raise my fame overseas until I figure out the answer to this question. Lowering my supply of bottle faeries is SO uncool

although i am unsure of how much stronger they get, creatures generally get stronger each time you level up.
for instance. at level 30 dragons were much weaker than they are at level 38
in order to achieve greatness vs dragons, get your stats up as high as possible. If you don't want to have any trouble slaying dragons, make sure you raise your guts and your wits up to match theirs. I haven't achieved equal stats, but the best way to ensure victory is dont tithe, gain stats as much as possible with gaining xp as little as possible so you dont level up and so they dont either.
How is this done you say?
STAY AWAY FROM DRAGONS!!
I know, its crazy...but they give the most xp, and unless you've got a penchant for murdering dragons (like me) you dont want to waste quests in the mines because its tough to gain stats there.
Questing overseas is a great idea if you're having dragon problems. Use your berserks and mezzes as much as possible, and in places that give you a boost to using skills...sirinnu posted a guide to which places offer the best bonuses...though i cant remember what they were..you can find it somewhere in the Omniscient Oracle
best place to gain wits? I'd say Azteca. Run from everything you see. Get your wits up (skill follows suit) and then slay some dragons man!
my trick to high guts gain? Mandrake root the hell out of any dragon you see. or alternatively, any creature in azteca.
I've been successful in running from everything in shangala, so if you're unlucky in gaining stats in azteca, try shang. Its a good place to gain wits since most creatures are simple to run from.
hopefully this post makes sense, any questions feel free to ask.
Your wise and dragon-hating King

well as for my experience gaining wits if you are in the lower category would be the mountains, nearly every mob there will pursue you if you run, increasing your chances, also a good idea to load up on a bunch of mage skills, and carry thief insurance, but mostly you are at that point to where running around brazil and shangala/docks is your best bet, mezz gladiators for the most part till u get your guts/wits up higher, id say once you run outta mezzes start using mandrake roots on stuff, you have a decent chance of gaining guts off using them.
