Backstage was buzzing with activity in preparation for the grand finale of a musical centered around a Christmas in Ireland. Dathron, Orrv, Toki and Sirinnu were in one corner going over the music for the song to be played on their wind instruments, with Gawayn joining them on the harp. Bre'Cheye had cast a Druidey spell on Ant, giving her the illusion of a spry Wood elf so that Ant could join Safarah and herself in the dance number of the show. From time to time, Bre'Cheye cast a glance toward the backdoor looking for a certain Irish Bard to walk through it, sighing each time she didn't see him. "Where had he gone?" she wondered to herself.
The stage was decorated with a rustic looking house in the middle with a thatched roof, mountains painted on a tarp for the background with evergreen trees flanking each end. The lights were down low as the crowd slowly filled their seats from the short intermission in anticipation of what was to come. A soft twinkling appeared at the right of the stage to reveal the harp and Gawayn as the twinkling fell to the floor. The lilting of the strings lifted from his fingers to the ceiling, bringing the crowd to a state of awe to watch the Paladin work his magic. Trumpets and horns joined the sound as Toki, Dathron and Orrv suddenly appeared to stand next to Gawayn. The thumping in time to the music was next to join them but no one appeared at first. A grand spark of lights silently exploded causing the crowd to lean back in their chairs and collectively murmur, "Ooooo!!" and to finally come to the conclusion the drums were being struck by the orc, Sirinnu.
Ant, Safarah and Bre'Cheye, all three in matching red dresses with full skirts and white fur trim, one by one twirled from the back to find their places on stage. Ant sat near the rustic looking house on a bench, Safarah stood beneath an outstretched limb of one of the trees while Bre'Cheye stood to the right side of the stage leaning against a solid looking "boulder." A familiar hand touched her back as Irishman began the song:
"The holly green, the ivy green, the prettiest picture you've ever seen..." Irishman kissed her cheek then sashayed to Safarah where he hugged her close, "Is Christmas in Killarney, with all of the folks at home." Irishman twirled Safarah about, then twirled her back in to leave her standing where he found her. He then made his way to the rustic looking house, bowing to Ant as she sat on the bench, "It's nice, you know, to kiss your beau, while cuddling under the mistletoe," touching Ant's nose, Irishman turned to face the audience, "And Santa Claus you know, of course is one of the boys at home." Irishman then turned toward Sirinuu to bow before him. A hop and skip, and Irishman was back to Bre'Cheye to take her hand and pull her to the middle of the stage. He stood behind her to rest his chin on her right shoulder and pointing them toward the rustic looking house watched as Ant stood to open the door. Irishman sang in Bre'Cheye's ear as if to whisper, "The door is always open," then he spun her out with his right hand while waving his left arm out at all the newcomers to the stage: Fairton, Varn, Torra, Wahoo, Mertdogg, Sirruss, King_Smitty, Unknown1, Skywing, Roaring Eagle, Divine_Auror, Tripop, Kid_rock and a few others who were unrecognizeable from the crowd, "The neighbors pay a call, and Father John before he's gone," Irishman pulled back from the crowd, leaving Bre'Cheye to blend in, to once more face the crowd, "Will bless the house and all."
The music continued as Irishman began to do an Irish reel, "How grand it feels to click your heels, and join in the fun of the jigs and reels," stopping long enough to lean toward the crowd with a sincere look on his face, "I'm handing you no blarney, the likes you've never known...is Christmas in Killarney," Irishman backed up to wave at everyone on the stage, "With all of the folks at home."
Everyone on the stage then joined the song while Ant, Safarah and Bre'Cheye twirled from their positions until all three were where the others were standing, "Christmas in Killarney is wonderful to see." Irishman galloped and danced to the middle to pull Ant to the front of the stage, "Listen to my story and I'll take you back with me," then he held his hand out to Safarah who joined him on the other side, "The holly green, the ivy green, the prettiest picture you've ever seen..." Irishman spun to look at the group behind him, then held both hands up to encourage them, "Is Christmas in Killarney, with all of the folks at home."
Ant and Safarah stepped out front as Irishman made his way to stand beneath a twig of mistletoe that was being lowered to hover over his head and was joined by Bre'Cheye while the two girls in front sang, "It's nice, you know, to kiss your beau, while cuddling under the mistletoe." Irishman stood behind Bre'Cheye, then spun her to stand in front of Sirinnu, "And Santa Claus you know, of course, is one of the boys at home."
Torra, Varn, Fairton, Tripop and Kid_Rock stepped to the center of the stage to collectively sing, "The door is always open," pointing to the open door of the rustic looking house before stepping back into the crowd of others for all to sing, "the neighbors pay a call." Irishman stood in front of them again, "And Father John before he's gone..." Irishman slowly turned to look at the group of 'neighbors,' as he finished his line, "Will bless the house and all."
Ant and Safarah started to dip and sashay, making their way to stand on either side of Irishman again to join him in his reel as everyone on the stage sang along, "How grand it feels to click your heels, and join in the fun of the jigs and reels," Irishman had a girl on each arm while singing to the audience, "I'm handing you no blarney, the likes you've never known...." he spun them out, watching them twirl to each end of the stage and he joined in with the crowd to sing once more, "Is Christmas in Killarney, with all of the folks at home!!!"
The crowd of 'neighbors' slowly made their way to sit here and there amongst the trees and shrubbery as Toki, Dathron and Orrv blasted on their woodwind instruments. Gawayn gently strummed the strings of the harp while Sirinnu smiled approvingly all the while thumping his drums. Irishman danced and tapped his feet to the rhythym of the music, going from Safarah to Ant then to Bre'Cheye and back to Safarah, pointing her to the rustic looking house.
"The door is always open, the neighbors pay a call," Irishman crooned, watching the crowd mill around as though they were seemingly visiting with one another, then he sideled over to Ant and held his hand toward the house, "And Father John before he's gone, will bless the house and all."
The crowd of actors lined up across the stage while Irishman went into another of his rapid dancing of a reel, "How grand it feels to click your heels," and right on que, Irishman leaped to the air to click his heels together while a few of the crowd stepped away to do an imitation of the dance Irishman had just performed, "And join in the fun of the jigs and reels."
Irishman slowly made his way to the hanging mistletoe, with Ant and Safarah once more on each side of him. Irishman knelt on one knee to hold his hand out to Bre'Cheye who sat on his bent knee. Ant on his left and Safarah on his right, they both placed a hand on his shoulder then stretched their other arm to the ceiling. Irishman looked into Bre'Cheye's eyes and sang slowly, "I'm handing you no blarney...." a quick peck to Bre'Cheye's cheek, "the likes you've never known." The group crowded in as he sang his last line, "Is Christmas in Killarney," Irishman kissed Bre'Cheye while the entire cast finished off, "With all of the folks at home!!!"
