Tonight as the writer entered, the tavern was bursting with customers. The ever quiet Roachie was at his regular table while a few of the others discussed points. Baked_Bean must have been asleep whilst Dathron wheeled and dealed for jaguar hides.
Keizo left quickly which was a shame seeing as how Divine_Auror, aka DS walked in a few mintues later. Tripop took his AFK seat while rion, eXtinct, Dathron and DS threw the dice around for various pieces of armor. The writer sat behind the bar drinking hot apple cider while the guys gambled away, wishing that someone would send her more turnips. Lo & behold, Dathron came through! Although, are 18 jaguar hides good enough for 20 k turnips?
Before bidding everyone a goodnight, she caved in to DS when he wanted to give her an upgrade. She told him that her reward was his friendship, but to make him happy, she agreed to the upgrade.
Tripop and Dathron snuck off to come up with a secret plan to keep DS around longer, so only time will tell on that.

What has the Towne Square Tavern become? It seems that it is no longer a place to go to for a friendly chat or to even have a "cookie" or drink. What once was a great place to "dance" "rumble" or even have a friendly game of dice has been turned into a place for only gambling and trading. The Towne Square Tavern is no longer 'family-friendly,' but I suppose it all depends on one's perspective in life. Is life all about that next great piece of weapon or is it about caring about others? You choose.

indeed , The current bunch of players hanging around TS are now more interested in trading-gambling than rping! Its true that we were more inclined to rp there last year.. Though, TS is what we all do with it! There's alot of rooms by the TS. No one is forced to stay in the commons. I'd love to see more rp there myself (I dont enjoy trading as rping myself), , , thats may be why I'm less seen in ts these days! But if I know that another rper will be in the tavern or in the kafehaus, , I'll certainly visit more.
What sadden me the most is seing old rpers dropping by ts, seing many peops there but no rp at all! While its seems obvious to me that this oldy would definatly come back if more rp was done in TS. Items never interested these people, so gambling-dicing, or trading, , , isnt convincing em to return. I bet they are just happy to c ts still active, but its not how we could convince em to try dc again!
Dont worry bre! I'm on your side about this, , I'll try to rp more myself even if I'm alone there to do so! if we are 2-3 interested to rp, we can always get into another room (its indeed impossible to rp when people are dicing heheh, , , I think that we are enough active dcers, to keep 2 or more TS rooms active, , one for the trader-gamblers, , and another one for the rper.... (thats exactly what ts is for anyway.)
Of course, it was great fun with toki, gawayn, irish, ant , varn last year. But dont give up! Other dcers interested in rp shud be back. Or with proper charm (method) we could continue to rp between the gamblers and we may convince some to join us.
overally , I think as u bre, , but I feel that I can still do something. When I'm in the ts, its in my power to rp permanently if I want to... And when people there are only gambling, if I dont want to gamble myself, I just go in another room, , where peops can join me for something else than gambling.
Shud be enough rooms for everyone in ts to be happy!

It would be good to once more visit the Towne Square Tavern to find a crowd full of cookie eaters and such. Sometimes though, those cookie eaters get side-tracked on their way to the Kaufehaus and never make it to the next room.
From my "travels" from one old clan to another and reading their 'history,' I've found that 'Once upon a time,' the TS was very, very crowded and full of those cookie eaters/RPers. I guess I missed out on that. "Born Late?" Maybe I was.
At any rate, I'll always have a platter of snickerdoodle cookies waiting........

I'm in the Town Square now with Sirinnu. I found this site a few weeks back but now I'm posting for the first time. These forums look very nice, I bet there's a lot of interesting stuff to read in here. Some of the other clan forums that used to be active aren't anymore so it's nice to see one that has more people hanging around. At any rate, I've played for a while and love questing. I've made my own clan but the only ones in it are my characters. Is there any way to get the clan lists working again?

The clan lists are part of DC and as such we have no control over them whatsoever. Unfortunately the only person who could fix them is Fred and I doubt he will bother  On a brighter note, I have only just started using the TS over the last few weeks and have had some great chats in there. Particularly liked plotting and planning with woot and dath, there are big things a-coming...watch this space!  |

True, i did notice your hello but you were no longer there. The problem with TS is if you have it open in the background it doensn't give you any notification that someone is there/has messaged you. I still prefer traderchat...
