Linden Hill
The wind rises from the orchard where trees that bore nectarines apples and peaches once grew
They were torn down to let new growth of campus buildings bloom
The foreign boulders and unfinished parking lot are reminders of days that have past
Of days that many who remain wish had never been
The new growth of tiny saplings in the old orchard that will not bear fruit for ten years
is dwarfed by the dying oak and Sugar Maple
Everything is calm and then the wind rises up again
