Continued from the Scars And Glory RP...I WILL DOUBLE POST..SORRY!!!
Suddenly it went dark. Smitty could feel himself being dragged somewhere, to where he was going, it was unclear. Landing hard upon a stiff log, Smitty finally made his way to his feet. I saw someone out here. Where did he go? And why did that man attack me? If I hadn't shoved him to the ground, he would've been a prime target for the crossbow i saw. Creeping quietly back towards the house, Smitty soon spotted the man in the woods. Obviously he didn't see him getting hurled through the air. Should I let him take a shot at the two outside? Wait, one of them is sleeping! But not the man who attacked me...I shouldn't even let him get a shot, if this man is good with his crossbow, he could take out that fool who attacked me, but then if he misses surely that stranger would screw everything up and destroy me in the process of removing this headhunter from existence. With that final thought, Smitty quietly slit the throat of the man in the woods. Seeing how things were not going well, Smitty walked out of the woods quietly and drug the man towards the dark stranger. Laying the body of the assasin by his feet, Smitty adressed the dark warrior with a tone that could only be described as pity "If you were not so much of a fool, you would have been pierced through the heart by this man and his crossbow. I do understand you thought I was attacking you, but perhaps when someone shouts for you to move and makes his way as fast as he can away from you, you would do well not to attack. With all things aside, I shall bid this town adieu, my pursuers are not far behind me, they most likely saw the magic that occurred tonight. Do not follow me. Upon my return perhaps we may settle this permanently." Smitty grabbed his weary horse and made his way out of the town

It wasn't long before the hero met the folks in town that this story first began.
Smitty was the proud King of an even prouder kingdom. Cimmeria, a kingdom of warriors, was in its prime. But dark deeds began to disrupt Cimmeria's way of life. An unknown force was terrorizing the countryside. At first they began to burn fields and kill livestock, but it wasn't long before people were being abducted and murdered throughout Smitty's Kingdom.
A few months went by, and when the people began to blame their King for the problems and for being unable to defend them, The King's younger brother, Clarius, took the throne by force. The Kings tutor and servant, Roland, saved Smitty before assassins under contract by Clarius attacked. Escaping through a secret tunnel Smitty found his horse with supplies waiting for him there. Roland was heard screaming in the tower, and when Smitty forced himself to look back, the body of his mentor fell through to the ground. Making haste to be out of the vicinity before daybreak, Smitty rode his horse through the entire night. Clarius's assassins were not far behind. Killing two and questioning the third, Smitty was able to determine that there were at least three assassins left.
It wasn't until his third day after his departure that he found himself in a strange town with strange folks inside. A kind man...Vyn was his name, gave him shelter. There was another, that seemed to not mind his presence, but the third man lacked the experience of the world and attacked Smitty for believing he was a danger to him.
Seeing an assassin in the woods, Smitty saved this foolish man and yet a fourth yet powerful looking man from being murdered, and was thrown into the woods despite it all. Slaying the assassin from behind, Smitty returned to the dark warrior, explained how he was truthful about not being an enemy unless this foolish man attacked him, promised an eventual compensation for the wrongs this man caused.
Leaving the town behind him. Our hero's quest continues....

The elf (He called himself an elf, although he was both human and elf.) Was watching the man riding on a horse. He quickly caught up to the tired horse, and asked the man, "Have you been anywhere interesting? Can I follow you around? You seem like a interesting sort of person."
The elf continued to jog alongside the man, waiting for a reply.

"Have you been anywhere interesting? Can I follow you around? You seem like a interesting sort of person.
Who is this man?
"Who are you? Alas, The issue does not matter for I am unprepared to divulge my name as of yet. I have been over many places, unfortunately not long enough to judge how interesting. You may follow me around, if you bear me no ill will. Perhaps tomorrow when I am far away from this place I will tell you my tale."

The elf was happily jogging along beside the horse, he was glad he could come, who knew what kind of places he would visit in his travels with this man.
"Here's a joke! Why did the chicken cross the road???"

"I am afraid I haven't heard that one before. Why did the chicken cross the road?"
In actuality it was a brutal reminder of what he once had. Smitty had grown accustomed to this joke, the jester would often tell it when he ran out of jokes to please his majesty.
There were plenty of things Smitty took for granted. His jester for one example. Another example was free, well cooked meals. He wished he had some stew before he left the town, as his stomach began to growl.
What had felt like months, it was only a few days previous, Clarius had knocked on his brothers door.
"Hail Brother!" "Clarius! Ah it is good to see you. What tidings do you bring me today?" Smitty replied.
"Ah, must we always get down to business before the pleasantries? The tidings I bring are grim. Another convoy was attacked today, this time the shipment of food and goods to our troops."
Smitty was distraught, but being King he had to control his emotions. With a even tone " This pains me to hear brother, six attacks in as many days. What has become of our empire? Answer me this, have the investigators found out anything about who may be behind these attacks?"
Unknown to Smitty, his brother was about to lie through his teeth. A clever trick easily learned without much effort. "Nay brother, nobody knows who is behind these actions, though I shall put every effort into finding the culprits and bring them to justice. I promise you that."
"Good, that is a relieving thought. I trust in you brother to help me in these troubles. In due time you will be eligible for the council and soon after, High Inquisitor. What news of Dregmond? It is a shame he was poisoned last week, I fear the attackers may have slipped him something to cause him to eat his last meal"
Dregmond was a good man. The current High Inquisitor of Cimmeria, Dregmond was an avid supporter of the people. Being born of common descent, Dregmond fought bravely in the Great War, and secured his spot as a General of the Grand Army of Richard, The Destroyer of Dragons. Using his influence of the people, Dregmond was elected High Inquisitor during the waning years of the previous King. It was a sad day to learn that Dregmond was poisoned, for a great ally of King Smitty and the people was doomed to die a painful death.
"Unfortunately Dregmond is worse today than usual," Clarius replied. "The physicians say he will not last the night." "I'm afraid I will lose control over the Council once he passes. Cimmeria will grieve greatly for the loss." "What you say is true, brother. But lets not dwell on it for the moment. His time has come and gone, though perhaps premature. Will you join me to the bathing houses? There are many a pretty maid bathing today"
"Haha Clarius I do believe theres something in this world you love more than me! I cannot go, it would not be well for rumors to spread of the King bathing with the maids of Cimmeria. Go, enjoy yourself, and do well to be back for dinner."
Embracing his King, Clarius departed.
Dregmond departed later that night.
"Wake up sire! Young King get out of bed!" Roland whispered in the Kings ear.
Rubbing his eyes, Smitty sat up. "What is the matter Roland, that you may interrupt my blissful sleep?"
"You must make haste, I'm afraid I cannot explain much, but Dregmond passed not long ago, and there are soldiers making their way to your quarters. I fear that they are hear to claim you as their prisoner, or perhaps worse."
Jumping out of bed, Smitty grabbed his Sword. "How man are there? I can take twenty, perhaps thirty men with swords!"
"Nay King, there is naught less than fifty men with crossbows, and not even you could deflect as many shots. Make haste, this passageway will lead you out of the castle, where your horse has been stationed. I cannot go with you, I will try to stall them as best as I can, but I fear this may be goodbye for a while, if not forever. Go! They are nearly at the door!"
"Goodbye Roland! Thankyou for everything, I will not forget as long as I live." Smitty dashed through the hidden doorway, only known to him and his tutor as was the custom for the scores of deceased Kings. Reaching his horse, he hear the screams of Roland out of his tower. Looking up he saw the body of the man falling to the ground. Pain filled his eyes, soon to be replaced by anger. Seeing a man at the window, Smitty gazed upon his brother.
It made perfect sense at that moment. Clarius, his once loved brother, had grown up under the shadow of Smitty. Being his elder, Smitty had claim to the throne. Clarius must have staged the attacks, and being in charge of the investigation, he was able to kill the investigators if they ever knew too much about the operation. Poisoning Dregmond was a bold and cruel move, but very clever. Clarius must have known that taking the throne for himself would have caused the wrath of the High Inquisitor, who some say holds more power than the King if he had a corrupt heart. Dregmond had the loyalty of the people, for being one of them, and after his death, all that was left was the blame of the attacks onto the King. And if he dissapeared...or died, whoever would take over would be generally a welcome change. Having both the Crown and the ability to rule the council with the High Inquisitor gone, Clarius would have no trouble ruling Cimmeria.....
"If I only could've seen it before! Thank you Dregmond, " he added under his breath. " I will not forget." Realizing he was back in the woods with the elf, Smitty hoped he had not overheard him.

While laughing, the elf told his joke. "Because... he..... wanted to get to the other side!!!" The man riding on the horse didn't seem to notice. Without a second thought to the mans ignorance, the elf ran ahead a little bit. Then slowed down until he was back at the mans side. "Where are we going?" This time the elf noticed when the man didn't reply. "Hey, where are we going?" Waving his hand in front of the riders face, the elf frowned. "Are you sleeping??? Is that possible? ?"

"I am not asleep. My apologies, friend. I am in deep thought." Smitty replied with a blank stare.
"Come, let us quicken the pace, I would like to be a bit further before the sun rises." And with that, Smitty hastened towards a copse in the woods.

"Yea, I'm sure YOU would want to quicken the pace, you have a horse!"
The elf then went on complaining like a little kid. "Are we there yet?"
After what seemed like ages to the elf, they finally reached the copse. He went right to sleep, laying in a tree branch.

*Vyn soared into the sky from the place he once again considered his home. As he flew over the trees he noticed that they seemed no more aged than they did when he flew over them after his collision.
He caught up to the two men but decided not to reveal his existence. Chances were that the man on the horse would not even recognize him through his new appearance.
He couldn't see perfectly through the trees but he noticed that they slowed down and stopped in a copse. Thus making it harder for Vyn to see the two.
He hovered in place for a few moments to decide what he wanted to do but as he stopped a bird that must have been following him hit him square in the back.
"What the.. Ow!" His voice cracked. The bird circled him and then quickly flew away looking somewhat confused. Vyn felt blood trickle down his back. "White... this is why I need to never wear white." He descended amongst the trees to search for a small stream that would offer a solution to his newfound mess. He only hoped that he would not lose the two men as he did this.*

Finderel waited. His vision on the two newcomers again. Whatever was that strange flying thing? it was not quite a bird... That was for later. At present, it was no threat and of no concern. Would it return? He wondered what the two men had in common to be traveling together. Odd that... two so different traveling in company. He had seen his share of odd things but decided they must have fallen in together by happenstance. The half-elf pretended a lot but he knew he wasn't that silly. Having watched them a few hours before they arrived at the copse he had noticed how silly the half-elf had made himself to be. But that was obviously a disguise. He disliked people not showing their true nature but that mattered very little. Apparently this other man trusted the elf. Well this other man was also very interesting... Travel-worn and it appeared also a trained warrior. He had ridden far and long. What was he running from? He decided to wait and watch a little more, and after both were asleep took a brief rest to be ready before they awoke again. The elf at least might wake before him but he wanted to wake before either of them. He would follow in the morning to find out a little more of the odd pair. What was the man running from?...

(OoC. [just in case u didnt know Raistler, OoC means out of character, so put that if u want to say something out of character, just you know, try not to use it for spam purposes *directs a glance towards Unknown to make sure he understands as well* :-P] In any case, i just realized a copse is not what i thought, it pretty much is a small forest, so from this point forward, the copse we're at is just a clearing in the woods, and should be thought of as such if it already hasn't....)
Rising the next morning, the feeling of being watch itched Smitty, but the sight of his horse in better spirits and in obviously better health due to the rest, he felt a lot better.
Seeing the elf still asleep in his branch, Smitty began to clean his clothes and bathe at the nearby stream, returning feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
Watering his horse and taking a bite from the loaf he swiped from the house he stayed in, Smitty felt at ease. He was in company with a strange elf, who seemed to enjoy making a fool of himself, but did not find any shame in it. It was refreshing to see someone in such high spirits, as well as to have someone to spend time with. The last few days along with the death of his tutor left Smitty feeling very alone.
Seeing that it was about time to start again, Smitty roused his companion,
"Hello there my friend who sleeps in trees! Wake, for I must be going and I fear that you may not enjoy waking alone in a tree. I have a loaf of bread if you would like some, though there is not much to spare."
Waiting for a reply, Smitty began to pack his gear onto his horse.

The eld was woken by the armored man, who asked if he wanted some bread.
"Bread is fine, I think I will find some berries, I saw a bush with a rare type of berry. It's called a traveler bush, the berries help keep your strength up."
With that, the elf jumped from the tree, and ran off. A few minutes later, he came back with two handfuls of berries.
"I'm going to plant some of these, but first, where is that bread? And would you like a few?"

Now that the elf had awoken Finderel knew that they would be moving off soon. Having awoken well before the pair he had finished his preparations for the day early before the sun had fully risen. Besides he didn't want them smelling him from far off because he hadn't taken the time to wash himself. That would be foolish and the elf was anything but foolish... (well, tried to be anyway.) He saw them readying themselves and the mount to be off. He wondered if he should take some extra water for the elf just in case... because it would not do for him to get himself winded keeping up with that horse and then what use would he be if indeed someone came upon them. Finderel knew not of the threat but judged that the elf may prove helpful if he had his strength up. He had to admit that elf was quite resourceful. Traveler berries... Well, he decide that, at least for one more day, he would follow the pair at a distance. He was quite curious about them. He had only happened upon the two in his travels and since they were going roughly in the same general direction he had chosen he decided to follow them. His own destination was unknown or rather undecided but seeing the pair his curiosity was caught. What were they running from?...

*Wading into a creek, Vyn slipped off his shirt and soaked it in the stream, using some leaves he had grabbed with a special compound to help relieve the shirt of the stain. It wasn't working, though.
In a fit of rage Vyn threw the shirt into some nearby bushes and began cleansing his wounds. After completing the task he sulked back over to where he had thrown his shirt and noticed that the elf was on the opposite side of the bush that held his shirt.
Vyn slipped behind a tree and grabbed his shirt. He then proceeded to follow the elf back to the camp that he and the other man had set up.
Keeping a safe radius around the elf Vyn noticed another presence nearby.
"This whole feeling a being's presence is helpful," Vyn muttered to himself, "but it will definitely take the fun out of hide and go seek."
Vyn then carefully avoided meeting the other man that was hiding as he listened in on what the conversation that was taking place.*
