As it turns out, since Cyruleanide is my main character (ergo, my strongest) I obviously play him the most often. However, yesterday I was feeling a bit nostalgic, and went to play my veteran character, Jedahn; you may have read about him in the parlor of glory, having been the one who nursed Cyruleanide back to health. Though not fully enchanted (I didn't have the patience for enchanting gear when I played only Jedahn all the time), Jed still has some fairly strong gear, his sword being a Silver Masamune with *panic* on it. Roughly, his stats are as follows: Guts-302 Wits-294 Charm-299 I decided to take King Smitty's advice on gaining wits, since it worked VERY well for Cyruleanide, and took him to Azteca to flee from Jaguars. Naturally, they would often catch me and make an attack (missing most of the time, of course), but with great dread I realized something: even though putting the *panic* status effect does not cause Jaguars to flee from you (most of the time anyways), it also gives them no motivation to pursue you when you flee! It would seem that I need to find as strong of a weapon as I can in either Cy's or Jed's storage and enchant it up for that blue-haired elf. The long-short of this story? *PANIC* = FAIL

One last thing-
I HATE how Jaguars have the ability to attempt to hypnotize you MULTIPLE times! That has nothing to do with this, but I just had to vent about how annoying it it to have two sage foresee-ances taken from you in just one encounter!

I'm with you, Cyru, it does stink. Jaguars are perhaps one of the most annoying creatures in the game.
Interesting about the Panic feature, though.
