.02325!!! crazy!!!
just realized i made a error!!! if you continue down the path i laid for you it would be a number so small, it would be huge...decimally.
every time HALF of the REPLY # is a whole number, DIVIDE by the last persons answer, and round to the ten thousandths place.
if HALF of the REPLY # has a decimal in it, MULTIPLYby the last persons answer, and round to the ten thousandths place.
so 106 / 2 = 53 / .02325 = 2279.5698924731182795698924731183 = 2279.5700
2279.5700!! crazy!
sirrinu's next post is still valid, i changed the rules so go by his last number!
count!

107 / 2 46.5
46.5 : 2279.57 ---- 0.0204 ?

ok so since my birthday contest dissapeared, im gonna add the 200d DSJ to the main prize for this old contest (which was a nice SJF) so count!! the rules?? add 10 to the last number and divide by 2!! remember to drop all the decimals! that means you stalat!!! so .0204 + 10 = 10.0204 / 2 = 5. 0102 = 5 COUNT PEOPLE!!!

I cannot believe no one besides Stalat has participated in this excellent game Smitty devised. It’s ‘add 10 and divide by 2’, it isn’t ‘prove Fermat’s Last Theorem’, everyone can do this, I mean what, do we want China coming in here and taking over with their superior rote skills, walking out with all the high tiers leaving the rest of us holding IO CHINA 6 [?] CWT notes forcing us all to eat with chopsticks vote communist and buy toys made out of lead, rice and used panda bears? I know there’s a calculator in your computer (start menu/All Programs/accessories/calculator) so get it out, warm it up, read the manual, throw the manual at the wall, something!
Now. Stalat. I admire you for having the confidence, intelligence and sense of fun to jump in and enjoy this game when no one else has yet, yes I do, very much, and I'm grateful to you too, because I like to play games like this and I appreciate someone who will play them along with me, not to mention your clear and quick mastery of anything mathematical, which is impressive as hell, but see that .5 there in your vise-like grip? LET GO OF IT MAN. Just drop the thing. There will be other decimals, I promise, and some of them might even be in short skirts, but you have got to let that one go (and I want to send you my next several CSB sets as a peace offering, if I can convince you to accept them).
Okay nuff said, I am going to take a turn now even though I know it means I will not be the one to hit the convergence value since we are dropping decimals (I have no idea what the contest’s win condition is, btw):
Previous answer: 7 Add 10: ~~~~~17 Divide by 2: ~~~8 (17/2 = 8.5, and drop the decimal)
My answer: 8

9 - Aslana, sorry about the decimal I had every intention of dropping it and wasn't paying attention when I typed my answer.

9 - Stalat: Not at all, and I hope my joking with you about it wasn't offensive. I didn't mean for it to be, at all!

This is why you need decimals. We will get stuck in an endless loop unless you round up 9+10=19/2 =9.5 dropped decimal = 9.0 9.0+10=19/2 =9.5 dropped decimal = 9.0 9.0+10=19/2 =9.5 dropped decimal = 9.0 9.0+10=19/2 =9.5 dropped decimal = 9.0 9.0+10=19/2 =9.5 dropped decimal = 9.0 Don't think I need to continue any further, so here I WILL use a decimal 9.10=19/2 =9.5 ROUNDING UP = 10

Infact, with the current parameters we can't go any higher than 10 :/

Technically true. In fact we can't go any higher than 9, unless SOMEBODY decides to change the ruleset....... Stalat, you hit the convergence value when you first posted 9. Every iteration afterward will result in a solution of 9, since we are DROPPING the decimal, not rounding up, because that was the rule given. I think you are trying to set my teeth on edge. Are you a dentist and trying to drum up business for your profession? That would explain a lot, including what I am beginning to suspect is a semi-sadistic tendency to wave red flags in the face of literal-minded technical types *swipes at a passing red flag* there it goes again

That is not what I was trying to do Aslana normally we we have been able to reach the number 10 with decimals of course, since we weren't allowed decimals in order to keep going we would have to round up as you noticed and pointed out was NOT in the rules, realistically we would end at 10 if we were following the axiom of rounding decimals

Either way though, 9 or 10 we is at a stopping point LOL
