1, 9, 4, 7
(9-1)X(7-4)=24
or 7-4 = 3* 9-1=8* 3X8=24
both result in the same solution, would be interesting to permit parenthesis in this

Solution
6-2 = 4* 7-1 = 6*
4X6=24
*deals another hand*
2, 4, 8, 12
should be fairly simple

Hi guys I'm really glad to see more people participating
To answer Kaelan's question you can't use a number twice. Each number is used once. All numbers are used. Relevant rules are in first post. Valyre brings up a good point, once a hand is solved, be a good chap and post a new one. So far hands in this thread without solutions posted are:
5, 12, 11, 1 9, 2, 4, 3 12, 5, 2, 8
and my 5, 5, 5, 1
I've found solutions to all these hands, so all of them can be done at least one way. Someone with courage come and kill all these birds in one swoop in the next say, 24 hours. I have an exhalt waiting for you.
Oh by the way, Running Eagle has the right idea about the parentheses thing

12, 5, 2, 8
5*2 = 10 10- 8 = 2 2* 12 = 24
9, 2, 4, 3
2*4=8 9/3 = 3 8*3 =24
5, 12, 11, 1
11-1= 10 10/5 = 2 2* 12 = 24
5, 5, 5, 1
7, 7, 2, 1
