He made a motion as to show he had no intention to do any harm, by placing his weaponry that was strapped at his side into a pack he had pulled off his back. He followed behind her, closely, but each step seemed to give off no sound, his boots either enchanted, or by his sheer skill alone. As he passed a nearby table, he sat the sack of fruit down, intending on leaving it for the owner, whether she accepted them or not, than began to introduce himself, "I am Rileez Ed'hel, and might I inquire your name?"

Still sitting in the over-stuffed chair holding the teddypanda bear under one arm, she listened intently as the Dark Elf introduced himself. "Rileez Ed'hel," she repeated his name in an attempt to figure out if she had heard his name before. The war at Shangrila had left her memory sometimes a little... fragmented, causing her to forget minor things at times. Wondering if he were related somehow to the father of her twin nieces, she answered his question in the language of the drow, "Ussta kaas zhah Bre'Cheye," (My name is Bre'Cheye) "but most call me Bre." Casting a glance toward his weapons she added, "I don't fear you if that's what you might be thinking, I tend to trust everyone until they prove that I shouldn't have. And that hasn't happened very often." With her feet pulled up underneath her in the chair, she was thankful that there was no spaghetti on the table for that would have aroused Teddy and made him appear psychotic. He looked to the floor for a moment, though the drow language was sharp on his lips, he hadn't heard it used in almost two years. He eventually gave a slight smile as he lifted his gaze to her again "Its a show of goodwill, I guess I have become too accustom to overworlder ways." He paused a moment, to remember his childhood, to remember every moment leading up to his current existance, a lonely one indeed, but the one he chose. He began to speak once again "I am a mercenary, just merely passing through while looking for work". He than whispered quietly to himself "L'Orbb's Tril Chases Uns'aa".

"A mercenary you say," Bre'Cheye said in reply to his announcement of his profession. From her knowledge of what 'mercenary' meant, it was someone for hire to assasinate or to bring someone with a price on their head back alive.
She shifted in the chair to stretch her legs out then put her hand over the teddypanda bear's mouth when her elven ears picked up what he had whispered to himself. She didn't know ALL of the Drow language, only enough to communicate but she did understand two of the words he had whispered as "bite" and "me."
"I have some stew in the kitchen I could warm up for you if you'd like," she offered as she stood from the chair holding the stuffed toy. "I actually run my own Inn in another village but right now, for the life of me..." she smiled, rolled her eyes and laughed, "I can't think of the name of it and I can't remember my teleporting spell to go home."
She disappeared into the kitchen with her toy then came back bearing a tray with a bowl of steaming stew and a mug of water. "I don't have anything to drink other than water, milk and apple cider. I can get you some of milk or cider if you would prefer that instead of water. And like I said, you're more than welcome to stay in one of the rooms upstairs."
Once more she made herself comfortable in the overstuffed chair, clutching the toy close to herself. She pushed aside a strand of hair that had managed to escape one of her braids then added, "Teddy hasn't ever bit anyone and Fade would only bite if you tried to take an apple away from him. As for me, I only bite if provoked." She smiled then slid down in the chair, leaning her head against the back. Another yawn threatened to escape but she squelched it back while she waited for the dark elf's next move.

"Yes, a hand for hire" He took a seat in a chair, his constant serious tone evident on his face. He reached his arms to a clip at his neck, holding on his gray cloak. Its obvious magical enchantments revealed by a sudden change in how the light was dimmed about him.
"Stew would be nice", he said solemnly, "Water shall do, thank you for your hospitality". He continued to listen to her words intently. "Do you not think it wise to remember such details?" he wasn't trying to seem sarcastic, he was more curious of the reasoning. She had met several different overworlders, whose personalities he could still not fully grasp. He quickly thanked her again "A room to stay would be nice, with the storms that are to rage through soon tonight". He could smell the humidity in the air, even within the walls of the cottage.
He thought to himself for a moment, "Do you have anything that you could better seen done? I must pay you somehow for your hospitality." He than thought to himself, about her comment about biting, from either her whelp, or from her stuffed likeness of a panda. "Oh, it was merely a saying that I mutter to myself, to remind me of my place in this world, I said the Spider's Bite Chases Me."

She felt her mind wander to a time of war, to the time she had fallen from a bluff and almost died. Hearing his statement, "Do you not think it wise to remember such details," she softly replied in the words of the elven race, "Amin vand naa noarun leha vithel tham." (my home is far but also near) She let the strand of hair she had been twisting fall from her fingers, then looked up to the man who's name was Rileez and began her explanation as best as she could. "Even though I am of the Wood Elf race and a Druid by class, my mother--a wood elf as well--refused to let me train at an early age. And she only spoke Common to me, not the Wood Elf language; that's something I picked up from my friends. Because I wasn't properly trained at an early age, my spells," she lowered her head feeling ashamed, "my spells most of the time mess up." Looking back to the dark elf again, she continued, "and because I tried to teleport to one place and that messed up, I ended up in the middle of a war in a place called Shangrila. I fell from a bluff, I do remember that." She touched her right temple as if touching the scar from her head injury would help her memory, "two or three failed teleports later, I have found myself here and have found a new home; safe and happy for the most part. I've tried to remember more, but it's hard sometimes." Leaning her head to the left, she remained silent while he ate then stood holding her 'toy.' "I do agree that it's good to be under a good roof, I feel the storm approaching as well. There are some loose shingles on the back side of this cottage, if you wanted to fix those." She walked to the door to lock it, then turned to make her way back to her ground floor bedroom. With her hand against the wall she said, "There's more stew in the kitchen if you'd like more. And you can have your choice of rooms up there. I do believe I am going to go hide under my covers in case the thunder scares Teddy." About that time the ten inch dragon Fade, flew from the kitchen to follow her as she carried the toy through the door. "Sleep well," she whispered before shutting her door. "Wars are a necessary event". He also harked back to the days of his own mother, Eldest daughter of the Matron of his Noble Drow family, a vile woman who wished nothing more than to make him into a mindless destroyer, someone she could offer to his grandmother as a servant. He knew well the elven language, as many others, he understood her words plainly. "Ah, but mothers are but fools, and try to make fools of their children, this I know from personal experience". He always seemed so cold, but without nary a moment, he made off out the door. "The shingles it shall be, the stew shall be there when I return". As he stepped outside, he reached into his pocket to touch a stone that had to be hidden from sunlight. Though he no longer needed the stone, it was from sheer routine that he used it. He concentrated for a moment, and began to float, reaching the roof. As quickly as he landed softly, he bent down and reached into his belongings, procuring from them a small hammer and nails, of which he used in his travels to fashion make-shift shelter, and began to batten down the shingles carefully, using an unknown magic to quiet each thump that one would expect to make. He made quick work, straightening each shingle, before long the roof was well patched and he levitated back down, and returned within the cottage. Grabbing the stew on his way, he made up the stairs towards the room he would stay in, quietly replying to the elven girl, revealing hidden natures of his own "Good Night Day Elf, Do not worry over silly tidings". He meant this as a gesture of kindness, something he had picked up off a gnomish friend, a fellow mercenary, and illusionist.

Buried beneath her covers, she hugged the stuffed toy while trying to remember more of the events that had occured during the war at Shangrila. She knew it usually upset her to remember about that time, but on the other hand she also knew that it was probably best left hidden in the back of her mind for that very reason.
Hearing a loud clap of thunder, she shivered then peeked out from beneath the covers to see her ten inch dragon shaking more than she was. "Come over here Fade," she said, motioning the little pet to sleep on the other pillow next to her head.
Before finally falling asleep, she thought of the dark elf Rileez and hoped that he found the room to be comfortable. She made a mental note to go to town to buy more food just in case others might drop by.
She was covered by a peaceful feeling while drifting off; knowing that Sirinnu had returned safely. "Tomorrow..... maybe...." a quick yawn escaped her lips, "need to go... shopping..."
The ten inch dragon was laying on his back snoring while the magical teddypanda bear kept his eyes wide open to keep watch on the both of them. Another clap of thunder and the storm seemed to have arrived.

He removed his equipment, his armour and belt pouches, and sliding off his fur-lined boots. As he climbed into the well blanketed bed, he began to think back to his childhood. A memory of his cousin, Zameira, the only drow female to treat him with some sense of respect. He remembered how she made it a point to make him keep things clean, and though she was quite harsh, she often rewarded him for learning his lessons. He also thought back, to the day she finally changed, she stood at his grandmother's right hand side, as a handmaiden, taking on a serious role and wielding a snake-headed whip, like many priestesses did. He sighed as he shook his head, he didn't regret his decision, that place was hell, that world was hell. He closed his eyes, and decided it was time to rest... and he drifted off to sleep.

He woke up and had another sudden craving for apples; apples and beans. Sitting up on the pillow, he looked over at his mistress and she was sound asleep. He squeezed his eyes tightly shut and thought of the rooms upstairs. When he opened them, he was in the room where the dark elf was sleeping. He saw the fur lined boots and JUST KNEW the dark elf had hidden an apple in one of them. The boots were almost as tall, if not taller than his own ten inches so it was no surprise that when the boot toppled over, it fell right on top of the tiny dragon. A squealing noise came from Fade's snout as he struggled to get the boot off himself. In the process of the "fight" with the boot, Fade was slightly embarrassed as the results of eating a kettle of Toki's left over beans became apparent. The little dragon managed to roll over on his stomach beneath the boot and with all the power he could muster, he heaved and he hoed until a muffled THUD could be heard. A quick, "hmph!!" with the tiny dragon's clawed paws on his waist and his cravig for apples and beans was long gone. He squeezed his eyes shut once more to reopen them back in his mistress' room. He tugged on the quilt until he had crawled up on the bed and back to the pillow he had earlier been asleep on. He sat with his "arms" crossed in front of him as he thought and thought and thought and thought. And finally he determined that the one wearing the clanking armor who was in this clan surely must be the one who was hiding all the apples. First thing in the morning, IF he remembered, he would hunt Gawayn down and demand an apple. He only hoped that the knight knew how to speak Dragon.

She was lying on a hard narrow surface and not only did her temple hurt but her right shoulder as well. When she touched the right side of her face and looked at her hand, the moistness that had been there was indeed blood. And she knew that whatever was poking into her right shoulder, more than likely had punctured the skin. Trying to sit up proved to be more than what she had the energy for, so she just lay as still as possible. Surely someone would see her lying on the ledge at one point in time. She turned her head to the right and to her horror saw a Griffawn with sharpened talons targeting her face. She covered her eyes with her left arm then screamed as loudly as she could when she felt the claws cutting into her arm.Her scream in the dead of the night startled Fade so much that he scuried off the bed and hid beneath a nearby dresser. The following booms of thunder only made him scoot further against the wall. Whatever had made his mistress scream in her sleep, he wasn't about to find out right at that moment. He made himself believe that he could watch her from where he was, even though in reality all he could see was the insides of his eyelids.

Rileez had been listening to Fade through his entire ordeal. He cared not what the little dragon did, and was initially amused by his efforts. He could see the dragon plain as day, even without his infravision, having developed excelled nightvision via means he could not speak of. He laid his head back as the dragon fled from the room, closing his eyes, prepared to sleep when his ears picked up the sound of Bre's screams.
As if it was a natural fluid motion, he leapt from the bed, barefoot, grabbing both handles of his dual blades, and doing a roll through the half open door and into the hallway. With both blades held in a backwards offensive position, he busted through Bre's door, his eyes quickly shifting to the infravision spectrum, prepared for battle. "What happened?" he quickly asked in a serious tone, his instincts quickly causing each of his senses to assess the situation.

At the sound of her door being thrust open with a loud thud, she sat up in bed with wide opened eyes. The memory of the Griffawn's claws was still vivid in her mind, so much so that she had to look down at her arm to check the depth of the slashes. Her toy teddypanda bear had been slung toward the foot of the bed and his eyes were wide opened as well.
Hearing the concern in the dark elf's voice as she rubbed her right arm, she looked up at him in the darkened room to reply to his question, "I.... it was a...." her voice trailed off while reaching for the toy, shaking her head to rid her mind of the vision in her dream. "A Griffawn had attacked me in my dream, I was back on the ledge where I had fallen during the war of Shangrila."
She looked around the room for her little dragon, then called his name out, "Fade, where are you?" She could hear a small thumping coming from beneath her dresser and she knew Fade was hiding there and his tail was shaking from fear.
Looking first to Rileez and then to the lightening seen through her window, she asked, "Did I scream?"

He lowered the blades slowly, peering at her quietly "You screamed as if the very fires of flame demons had burned you". He looked about for the dragon himself "The little scale hopper crawled in my boot earlier, and caused quite a commotion, nearly killed himself tried to get out after getting himself stuck. He looked to her again, and contemplated a bit about these dreams "I know little of dreams, but I do know that those that haunt you can easily become real". He lifted the back of his hand to his chin to wipe one single drop of sweat, before speaking again "I knew an illusionists very well many a year ago, he told me how one could cause a person to dream so vividly that it could cause real harm to the victim, an deadly part of his art he rarely messed with".

She let her breath out slowly as she watched him lower his blades. It wasn't so much that she feared him, but at that moment had it been Sirinnu or Gawayn, she would feel slightly on edge as well.
She looked at her left arm and frowned to see faint red streaks running from her wrist to the bend of her arm. Without looking up to the dark elf, she spoke with a shaky voice, "I surely must have scratched my arm myself in my sleep."
Sitting up slightly in the bed, she peered down to the floor toward the dresser, "Fade, come out my little hero." She always tried to make the tiny dragon feel brave instead of the coward he really was. Motioning with her hand, she coaxed the shaking pet out from beneath the dresser and up onto her bed. Once on top of her quilt, Fade quickly buried himself beneath the other pillow with only the tip of his tail sticking out.
"You think some dreams can actually harm the dreamer? I've never heard of that. Of course, I've not heard of a lot of things to tell the truth." She bowed her head, feeling slightly ignorant even though she really hadn't experienced a lot in her 20 years of life.
Looking up again, she asked, "I usually don't remember the dreams I have but sometimes I do. I know that a lot of them probably might be connected to the war I accidently teleported into."
She almost jumped out of her skin when another loud bang sounded off, and she had to wonder if the gods were having some fight way up in the clouds. "I hate storms," she admitted, hugging the teddypanda bear tighter. "I just hate them, they seem so frightening."
