This is for everyone of you who's ever been new to Dragon Court In an effort to think of more ways to promote the wonderful world of Dragon Court in a more active manner, I thought it might be good to know how you - yes YOU found your way to good Queen Beth's realm the first time. I know many of us have returned after absences, maybe of many long years, but I'd ask you to think of how you first found or heard of Dragon Court, so we can maybe once again venture out into the breach to trumpet this wonderful world and our lively community. While wanting to hear from everyone, I'm most interested to hear from those who've newly joined, say in the past several months. I'll start us off first - I heard about the game from a friend of mine, almost ten years ago, who gave me the address. When I came back to the world of DC, I had to spend a few days trying to remember the name again! Ok, now your turn. Go!

I don't work, I stay home while my bf works. I love to write stories about Elves and such and sometimes while alone, I get bored. So my neighbor (who has/had played DC about 5 years ago) suggested I try it out. I did and I saw that people were in clans, so I decided at about level 6 I should be in one. I chose this site first and everyone seemed extremely nice and helpful. So when I finally could make it to apply for a clan, that's just what I did... to this one! My first and only experience with a clan and what an experience it's been!!

Years ago, we were a bunch of kids with minimal responsibilities in middle school, a bunch of us would head to the school computer lab everyday at lunch hour. The interest swung around to different things every few weeks. One period of time was java applet games. It was a big hit, being able to play even simple java games like asteroids or moon lander during school. Eventually, one boring weekend, I'd use the family computer and search up some java applet games to play on, and came across the fiends.com site. One quick look through the games, and I was quickly amazed at DC. Eventually I did leave the game and my character got deleted as well, but in high school, I happened to remember how much fun I used to have, and went and searched for the game again. That was when Xene was born

Hiya guys !! Been a while since I have poped in here.
I run across this thread and thought I would add my 2 cents worth
A friend of mine turned me onto DC back in 2000 I think it was.DC was my very first online game and after the first days questing I was hooked.
I had several characters that I started and let die off but I managed to hang onto one to this day.I just log him in enough to keep the reaper off his back.I was a member of a few clans,Titan and Torm Guardians come to mind .I was deep into the RP end at the various message boards, hanging out at Titan,TG, Crimson Dragons just to name a few.
At one clans site they had a RP date auction where you would bid on a date with items from DC,gems and other stuff.
I won a date with a leader of a small clan named Veterans Legion,Sierraa Dane was her name.We done our RP at a different site from where the auction was held. While we were doing the RP her and I started chatting with each other on IM and she found out that I lived just 250 miles from her.
Well I guess this sort of scared her and she ended the RP a bit premature and blocked me on her IMs.But she failed to remove a few links from her message board account sig and I cold trailed her to her message board or I should say both of her boards.
I had found out that she was also the leader of a clan/guild in another game...EverQuest,and this shy woman had me very interested to say the least...I finally got up the cash and bought a computer that would handle EverQuest and got into the game.
During this time I had managed to wear her down a bit and we started talking again and would post back and forth at her sites and at a few other boards that were DC related. After sometime she finally accepted the challange to call me at where I was living...When I did get into EQ I joined her guild right out of the box...so she was my boss,or that is what we all called her in game.
Her and I continued to talk on the phone almost every day for the next couple of years.Till one day she informed me that her and her parents were taking a trip close to where I lived at during that time...she was going to be within 100 miles of me...and she asked if we could meet.....needless to say we did meet and the meeting went well, the time we spent was not anywhere near long enough before we had to part ways...but the phone calls continued...then I actually went to where she lives at for a few days to see the area and help her through death in her family. That next spring I came back to the area where she lives and spent a few more days getting to know her a bit better and look around to see how the job market was in her area.
Well that fall I moved to where she lives and eventually married her...So now Sierraa and I are doing well and getting by,.....all due to a little game called Dragon Court....and a bit of cold trailing ....
so there it is guys......believe it or not !!

I started playing 10 years ago. I was introduced to the game while in High School. A younger guy told me about the site and I played it for a while. After a few months, I kinda got distracted with RL and forgot about DC. Then about a year ago, due to down time from my last job, I remembered this wonderful game. I figured my chars were dead, and they were, so I created a completely new one and revived my old char's name too! I've been MUCH more active now than I was, and I'm glad I've found this clan. I've made in-game and RL friends from this simple applet.

Nice stories so far, , I'll add my little one... but we also want to hear everyone else stories.
I was in a trip far from home looking for some work to pay my studies. I kinda hitchhicked across the whole country, backbacking. The last guy picking me up invited me to his home by the time I find the job I was looking for (I needed a phone # and a roof) . It was in may 1997. The guy was really cool and friendly, he had a little farm , a small family and he was a teacher, , so I was helping him with farm work... and after applying at some compagnies I was waiting for an answer from em, for the real work season to start.
After farm work some day, I started to get bored a bit, and I was terribly missing my friends from hometown, especialy the great rping game we were playing at that time , , If only I could be able to play some Dragon and Warrior or Final Fantasy, but I did'nt bring my nes with me (). And in the farmer s home they had that thing called The Internet (the man was also a teacher in the local school, so he had a cpu and internet). I was using it to stay in touch with my old friends... but I knew it was possible to find many kind of stuff with a computer connected to the WWW. So I ve opened that relativly new search engine called Google, , and I did a little research *FREE ONLINE RPG*... (I was also using Alta Vista, but I'm pretty sure I've find dc on google)
Many results were find,, , so I have opened the first 3 to try em! the first result was a simple java game called Dragon Court. Ive created 3 charies, since it was very quick to quest only one! So I was alternatly playing those 3 DC dc charies, and the 2 other games (I cant remember the names, lost interest for em real quickly). Finally after 3-5 days, , I was accepted for the job I was looking for !
So I went to work, , for the whole summer, , it was bush work, no internet, even no electricity where I was, , So I've completely forgot about DC...
After the summer , I was back home, ready for a new semester at school I had some $$$$... So I was able to purchase a new cpu and get connected to the web , and quiclky remembered about DC. (The few first months at school were slow), so I had time to create new charies to play that game (the first ones were all reaped)...
I've lost interest for dc few months later, and only goten back to it in 1999.... thats when sirinnu was created, with 3 other charies (one was reaped, but the other 2 I still quest em daily)
But I'll stop now, , since this thread was about How we did find DC. . . so that was it.... totaly random for me.... and since the first TS visit I did was very intimidating, so many peops speaking a slang english very quickly, , I only adopted questing !!! Even if dc had only 5 areas to quest in at that time, it was really fun (go fish area was *in construction*, first time I clicked there)

This is it? Five replies in as many days?? All you newer players really don't want me to send a spam PM, do you? Don't feel you need to write an epic response on how you found DC - though they're always fun. I'd be happy with a quick sentence or two, whatever you'd like to share.

In 1999 my brother Don told me about this game and that you can use mandrakes to have a bunch of quests, also he told me about everyone joining TITAN for the abilities. I started two chars, one qwerty and the other Funkdefino420. I would quest all day, go into the TS and say, "whoever wants a bunch of stuff say 'I'." Then I would send everything I didn't keep to them.. I guess I have always done giveaways !! I did not have a computer from 2000-2007 and once I did of course I googled DCourt. Well, It did take me a few minutes of brain crunching to remember any names, but I finally did remember FFIENDS then went on their site and found the DCourt game, to my amazement !!! I created tripop, wickedwizard1, and wickedwizard2 ... don't ask my why I never made a wickedwizard cuz it was available I joined the Frost Knights, but after a week or two of not receiving any help, or really any conversation I had already checked out W&W and had one of my chars in there, a newly created alt, tripope. I switched them all over, thus the promotion of my newly found clan would follow. w00t !!

Gosh, Gawayn...ya slave driver...can't you see that Orrv just got his arm bit off! LOL And, knowing Orrv...it was the one with the pen in it. May take him a bit to scribe his tale with his toes. Wahoo introduced me to this magical box in 1999 and showed me the amazing world of DC. Dial-up...but, what did I know....I didn't even own a TV when we met ....(and...for you smartypants out there, no, I'm not Amish). We joined clan Gnoggs...but there was rarely anyone there and it was difficult to navigate the site. Munkwunk was a great guy, though. Summer's are always busy in our area and what with the wedding planning we sorta got side tracked.... (I know! What IS the matter with us?!?!) Plus we only had one computer. Wahoo got soo distracted with R/L that he even got his characters reaped. So, he had to start over in 2004. I managed to keep my main and Torra and the two "kids" alive, though. Wahoo and I started looking at the idea of clan again (the Gnoggs had disappeared. ) We were/are huge Harry Potter fans, so when we saw Gryffindor we had to check it out. Potter, Hermione, Vertigo, Cynder, DATHRON, Rind Etc. were just wonderful and given that there were several other couples in the clan already...it was a perfect fit. Alas, family troubles pulled us away for almost 2 years, (but Mom's okay now) and one fall day I got a note from Vynfire saying "Your Clan Needs You". So, I came back and dragged Wahoo with me Luckily none of our characters were reaped after this hiatus. Alas, Gryffindor had lost most of its members and Unknown and TheAnt were being fiesty little WW Ambassadors at Gryffindor...so, when they invited me to stop by...I did (so you all know who to blame now, don't you ) I had never been to another clan before and was/am delighted with the interesting people and all the crazy activity going on around here. Thank You for posting this thread, Gawayn, it was really great to read all the stories!

Honestly, I heard about DC from some cousins of mine, who occasionaly used to send me links or tell me about cool little games and stuff online. That was back in 2004 (maybe 2005, who knows?) I was kinda into the game then, and actively tried to participate in TP giveaways and such, but was never active in the the clan forums (I was in SOIA back then, since they were the number 2 clan at the time I believe, and I felt lame just jumping into the most powerful one). due to my lack of interaction with the community (I didnt do TS at all either, never liked rp much), I soon kinda grew bored of the game. I rediscovered it a year and a half ago, and its been magic ever since.
I have no idea who my main used to be, but I know for a fact that it wasnt good ol' DF45 (he is the only dragonfire, dont know why I started with 45). He just happened to have the highest stats and gear of all my characters, so he quickly took over as head of the family.

I arose from the plebian masses for my first time between 1999 and 2001 i'd say.. i know i was in my early-mid-teen years and i'm now 24... My cousin Ken and I had both gotten into it from a cousin Jay of his who had played the game alot at the time.. (his only chars that i remember were *essex* and *essax* i believe..) And from there on, its the same old story, i was on again, off again, characters reaped, created new ones, moved around and so on. I had been a member of sick-of-it-all since i'd first started because i knew the name from the band of the same name. A couple months back, i'd decided to check out W&W because it seemed that all the "awake" players were posting from W&W.. I saw soo much activity goin on here that i had to join.. I'm still trying to get Ken to play again, but he works like 50 hrs a week doin security work.. Maybe i'll get in touch with Jay and get him back into this wonderful realm?!?
