Whatever you do to increase your stats (catching up fearies to get wits, charming sirens to get charm, killing a beast to gain guts, or any others skills related actions).. the basic formula is always the same:
1/stat...
Exemples:
if I kill a rat (by the field) and I have 10 guts, I have 10% chances of gaining 1 point of gut (1/10)
If I help out a wizard (by the field) with 100 wits, I have 1% of chance of gaining a point of wits.
If I barter with a centaur (always by the field), with 1000 charm, yeah you know it now, I have 0.1 % to gain 1 point of charm.
Same thing by the castle:
if you dice at 1000 wits, you'l have 0.1% of chance to increase your wits by one point.
And so on.
This is the basic formula. Now 2 things can alter this formula (at least 2 things that I'm aware of):
1- if you use your guild skills in combat the basic formula is modified by *5 , *3 or *2 as follow:
Berserk *5 to gain guts
hypnotize *5 to gain wits
Swindle * 5 to gain charm
Backstab *3 to gain charm + *2 to gain guts
i.e.: 1*5/stat , or 1*3/stat
2- Where you are questing can also modify your chances to increase one of your stats by one point.
By the field *1
Forest, court guard and mound (warren, treasury or throne room) *2
mountains, dungeon and go fishing *3
Hie brazil, castle guard, Dark Vortex *4
Shangalla, Azteca or mines (dragon) *5
(here I'm not exactly shure about the *2, *3, *4 part, I might be slighly wrong with 2 or 3 Areas, but It's quite hard to deduce all this by experimentation only, the main thing to remember is: the harder the area the higher your chances to gain one stat point)
So,,, to give a few more exemples:
100 WITS:
catching a feary in shangalla (1*4/100 = 4% chances to gain a point of wits)
Hypnotizing a fighter in Hie Brazil
1*(5+4)/100 = 9%
Helping out a troll by the dungeon 1*3/100, 3%
Running away from a wyvern (mountain *3): 1*3/100= 3%
500 GUTS
killing a snot by the forest 1*2/500 = 0.4% to increase your guts by 1
berserking a jaguar: 1*(5+5)/500 = 2%
Gaming by the castle: 1/500= 1% 0.2 %
exemples with 1000 CHARM
barter with a weird knife goblin () 1*3/1000 = 0.3% to increase your charm by one
Swindling a pirates (docks *3) swinddling *5 Charm : 1*(3+5)/1000 = 0.8%
Backstabing a Warrior (azteca *5) (backstab *3) 1*(5+3)/1000 = 0.8%
TRading with the dragon (mines *5) 1*5/1000 = 0.5%
ETC.
Good luck questers!!!!
For those after wits, the best combo is hypnotizing any of the aztecan foes or,, the dragon,,, Have fun!!!
